Helping Hand

Carquinez Village has opened its (virtual) doors, embraced a set of values that includes a commitment to serve all those who wish to be a part of the Village community.  We realize that, since many seniors live on a fixed income, some will find it a challenge to cover the cost of membership dues. If you would like to support someone who is in need of, or who would like to take advantage of, the services provided by the Village, we invite you to donate.

All contributions are tax deductible because Carquinez Village is in a relationship with a fiscal sponsor. "Fiscal sponsorship" refers to the practice of established nonprofit organizations' offering their legal and tax-exempt status to groups engaged in similar activities. Many emerging service organizations like Carquinez Village seek a fiscal sponsor until they are ready to “stand on their own two feet.”

This is how it works: Fairfield-based Faith in Action– a volunteer-based nonprofit providing non-acute, non-medical in-home support services to homebound seniors and their families—is Carquinez Village's fiscal sponsor. Faith in Action is one of many organizations of the same name founded by the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation over 20 years ago. The name is intended to mean “placing faith in taking action.” As a result of our relationship with Faith in Action, Carquinez Village gains nonprofit status and the ability to receive charitable donations.

According to fiscal sponsorship guidelines, all checks are to be made out to “Faith in Action” with “Carquinez Village" written in the comment line of the check. You may donate at a meeting using a check or credit card or by sending a check to: Carquinez Village, P.O. Box 207, Benicia, CA 94510. In turn, you will receive a letter confirming that your contribution is tax deductible.
